Kochi: The Summit of Future 2026, hosted by Jain University, showcased powerful life stories of women who have overcome adversity and reclaimed their identity. One of the key highlights on the second day of the summit was the panel discussion titled ‘Nayika – Penperumayude Kathakal’, which offered an in-depth exploration of the transformations, struggles and resilience of women across different stages of life.

Moderated by Dr. Bincy Baby, the session featured renowned rider Shyni, entrepreneur Naseera Ahammad, and Dr. Sreelakshmi N. Nair, who shared deeply personal experiences that resonated strongly with the audience.

Dr. Sreelakshmi N. Nair spoke about the changes in a woman’s personality and life circumstances after marriage, emphasizing the importance of retaining one’s voice while navigating family expectations. She noted that marriage can become a platform for personal growth when supported by understanding and encouragement. Drawing from her own journey, she also underlined that age is never a barrier to education or career pursuits, even in one’s thirties or forties.

Shyni shared her inspiring journey of breaking societal stereotypes and travelling across India on a motorcycle. Founder of Kerala’s first women’s riding club, she continues to pursue her passion at the age of 42. “Even when society mocked me for my dark complexion and for travelling alone, I chose to move forward without hesitation. If even one person believes in us, or if we believe in ourselves, we can conquer any peak,” she said.

Entrepreneur Naseera Ahammad, a mother of five, spoke movingly about turning failures into opportunities. She recounted overcoming financial hardship, mental stress, and depression after marriage to establish herself as a successful home baker. “Our future is not shaped by our past, but by the courageous decisions we take at the right time,” Naseera reminded the audience.

The panel also observed that the pressures of social media and the digital age place an undue burden on women, stressing the need to prioritise mental health over societal standards of physical beauty. The session concluded with a powerful message: failures and setbacks should not be viewed with shame, but embraced as stepping stones for growth and self-discovery.
